Beth Higgins is a Senior Technical Manager at Pinchin Ltd. and has spent more than 25 years helping create safer and healthier environments through her work in occupational hygiene. When she's not working, Beth enjoys traveling and is an avid sports fan.

 Secretary

Helen Mersereau is an Occupational Hygienist who has worked for 35+ years in the OHS field. She received her BSc from Queen’s University, her MHSc from the University of Toronto. She has conducted research on Radon in NS workplaces, Health Risk Perceptions at hazardous waste sites, and Miscarriage Rates in Cape Breton. Helen is also a certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and a Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH). She has worked in occupational health and safety in large companies across Canada, including Syncrude, General Electric, Nova Scotia Power and the QEII Health Sciences Centre. She has taught at Cape Breton University in the Health Sciences Department for 29 years. 

Treasurer

Ben Curren is a relatively new industrial hygienist having just completed his ROH certification. He currently works with the Nova Scotia Health Authority as an Occupational Hygienist and received his education from Dalhousie University. His spare time is spent being a homebody playing tabletop games with friends.

PE Director

Katriona MacNeil is a Safety Professional and Occupational Hygienist working within the PEI Government. MacNeil has 20 years of OHS experience in varied roles, including regulatory, health, and private industry. MacNeil holds a Master’s Degree from McGill University in Occupational Health (2013) and is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
